SOCCER: Ridgefield rolls in district playoff

Nate Miller scored two goals and Jaren Pachle had a goal and an assist as the Ridgefield boys soccer team beat W.F. West of Chehalis 7-0 in a Class 2A district tournament match in Ridgefield.

Chase Majury had three assists in Ridgefield’s win.

The Spudders advance to play Mark Morris on Tuesday. The winner of that match qualifies for the 2A state tournament.

Hockinson 3, Centralia 0 — Scott Stavig scored two goals, and Mitchell Pinney had a goal and an assist as the Hawks won the 2A district tournament match.

Brett Sparks assists on Pinney’s first-half goal, and Conner Thompson had the assist on Stavig’s second-half goal.

The Hawks next travel to Capital on Tuesday for a semifinal match. Game time has yet to be determined.

Union 2, Heritage 0 — Sterling Ransom and Jonathan Moreno scored goals to advance the Titans to the 4A bi-district playoffs in a loser-out match against Heritage.

Union must win two loser-out games next Thursday and Saturday in the bi-district playoff to advance to the state tournament.
