o Steve Grote has joined Columbia Credit Union as vice president of training and development. He will be responsible for employee training and development programs on behalf of the credit union. Grote has more than 12 years of training and development experience. He holds a master’s degree from Capella University and a bachelor’s degree from Drake University.

o Terry Eccles-Pettet of Vancouver has been recognized as Realtor of the Year by the Washington Association of Realtors. Eccles-Pettet is branch manager at Realty Pro’s Salmon Creek branch and has been a real estate broker for more than 15 years.

o Three board members and one supervisory committee member were elected at Columbia Credit Union’s annual meeting in late March. The elected volunteers will serve three-year terms until the 2017 annual meeting. Incumbents Larry Paulson, Al Schauer and Dean Sutherland were elected to the board of directors and incumbent Mona B. Ail was elected to the supervisory committee. Other board directors are Judy Chipman, Roy Johnson, Paul Montague, Patricia Stryker, Alishia Topper and Lynn Valenter. Other current supervisory committee members are Dave Dumas, Tony Jackson, Dick Tompson and Robin Hayden.

o Tony Curtis, owner of Current Home Technologies, Llc, recently accepted an award for the Fastest Growing Company 1-5 Years presented by Vancouver Business Journal. Curtis started the company in 2008. He is also vice president associate for the Building Industry Association of Clark County.

New business news

o Connie Osborne, a certified hypnotist and Reiki practitioner opened aNewYouHypnosis in April at 318 E. Main St., Suite 104 in Battle Ground. Osborne specializes in weight management and smoking issues. She is a graduate of the Northwest Institute of Hypnosis in Portland. * 360-281-8456.
