Soroptimist awards recognize volunteers, help women achieve

Camas — Soroptimist International of Camas/Washougal recently honored 10 women who have made major strides in improving themselves and their world.

The awards event was April 15 at Zion Lutheran Church. Recognized were:

o Alexandra Anderson and Frida Persson, who are studying for medical careers, won Women’s Opportunity Awards that include tuition assistance.

o Jennifer Ross, Regina Petrov and Lindsay Weinberg won Violet Richardson Awards for volunteerism.

o Crystal Homola and Regina Petrov won Technical/Educational Awards to help pay for vocational school.

o Catharine Bradley, Clarisa Mondragon-Beltran, Diana Romanczuk and Brianna Scott won Endowment Fund grants for education in medical fields.
