Try this: Get moving at Marshall

The Marshall Community Center will host a family fun day complete with a with movie screening, sports activities and music performances. There will be public swim sessions, a park cleanup at Marshall Park, along with hands-on activities from Zumba to pottery before the movie screening of “Frozen,” rated PG, at 6:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets to sit on.

When: 2 to 7:30 p.m. today.

2) A nod to summer

The Hazel Dell Public Market will host the Beltane Festival, a Celtic celebration of the start of summer. It will be the site’s inaugural event, which will include a plant and garden art sale, Celtic-inspired food, an egg hunt, a maypole dance and Irish fiddlers.

3) Hooray for May leis

Get your lei ready for the May Day Arts and Crafts Festival. The Ke Kukui Foundation hosts its annual cultural celebration that’s also known as “Lei Day.” The event also features Hawaiian music, hula, Tahitian, Maori and Samoan dance showcases, Polynesian arts, crafts and food. The May Day Pageant will feature a royal court representing each Hawaiian island and a reigning May Day queen.

4) Bike, walk or run

The annual Walk/Run for the Animals helps benefit the work of the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. The event features two routes this year for people and their dogs: a 3-mile walk along the Columbia River and a 5K timed run through Fort Vancouver. There will be an after-party in Esther Short Park featuring a dog agility course, music, fly dog demonstrations and the vendor village.

When: 7:30 a.m. registration, 9 a.m. start today.

Where: Esther Short Park, West Eighth and Columbia streets.

Admission: $25.

The 31st annual Ride Around Clark County will take bicycle enthusiasts around town with 18-, 34-, 66-, and 99-mile rides. Each route loops back to the starting point at Clark College, with four aid and rest stops to help support participants. Helmets are required.

When: Registration opens 6:30 a.m. today, and participants have from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to complete their routes.

Where: Hanna Hall, Clark College, 1820 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver.

Cost: $35 to $40, free for ages 12 and younger with a paid adult.

5) ‘Spider-Man 2’ returns to amaze

Peter Parker’s (Andrew Garfield) life has only grown more complicated as he balances his Spider-Man responsibilities with graduating high school. Peter ends his relationship with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) in hopes of keeping her out of danger. Meanwhile an upheaval at bioengineering corporation Oscorp brings Peter’s friend Harry (Dane DeHaan), son of the company’s dying CEO, back to town. “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is rated PG-13.
