A Vancouver man was hospitalized after his personal watercraft collided with another Thursday afternoon on the Columbia River near Marine Park.

He was riding the watercraft when it collided with another vessel just beyond the no-wake zone near the park’s boat launch, according to Deputy Kevin Gadaire, who’s part of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit. The crash was reported at 4:22 p.m.

The 28-year-old man had deep cuts to his legs and was taken to a hospital.

Less than an hour before the collision, he had been cited for not carrying a boater education card.
