The Clark College baseball team drop its South Region opening doubleheader to Southwestern Oregon Community College 2-0 and 5-2 on Sunday at Kindsfather Field.
The games had been rescheduled from Saturday’s rainout.
Clark was held to two hits in the first game, a double by Brayden Maney and a single by Justin Juarez.
Travis Eckert pitched all nine inning for the Penguins, striking out seven with one walk and seven hits.
Clark found some offense in the second game, but couldn’t overcome a 4-0 deficit by the sixth inning. The Penguins scored twice in its half of the sixth to make the score 4-2, but SWOCC added a run in the seventh to seal the win.
