Harli Hubbard of Camas softball was voted The Columbian’s high school spring sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending March 22.

Hubbard collected 48 percent of the 1,300 votes cast by fans to beat out Jennae Lecomte of Mountain View golf, who had 44 percent.

Hubbard threw a five-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts against Washougal, and went 3 for 7 with three runs and two RBI over two games last week.

The other nominees were Akari Baba of Prairie tennis, Trevor Huddleston of Woodland baseball and Carter Johnson of Skyview soccer.

Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Monday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Thursday.

Athletes may be elected player of the week once during the regular season, and no athlete can be nominated for the honor in consecutive weeks.
