• Paul Reed, a Vancouver chiropractor, was recently elected to serve on the Washington State Chiropractic Association board of directors. He will represent Congressional District 3. Reed operates Bridge Chiropractic, 13712 N.E. 20th Ave. He is a graduate of Western States Chiropractic College and has been in practice for 16 years.n Justin Runquist has joined The Columbian staff as a reporter covering the cities of Battle Ground, Camas, Washougal, Ridgefield, Woodland, La Center and Yacolt, along with their schools. He is a Renton native and a graduate of Washington State University. He most recently worked for The Oregonian covering the Oregon cities of Lake Oswego, West Linn and Wilsonville.
• Daniel Maruyama and Emilie Benedon have joined UpBeat Music Therapy Services, Southwest Washington’s only independent music therapy provider. Dan is a guitarist and percussionist, and Emilie plays flute, accordion, ukulele and guitar. UpBeat provides music therapy for older adults and children with disabilities in the Clark County area.

• The Vancouver Humane Society for Southwest Washington opened a new ReTails Thrift Store March 9 at 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. This store replaces the recently closed 28th Street location. A second ReTails Thrift Store is at 3200 N.E. 52nd St. The new store offers vintage-style treasures and craft-friendly items, as well as clothing, household goods and books.
