Motorcyclist killed in freeway crash north of Vancouver

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night in a crash on Interstate 5 north of Vancouver, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash occurred about 8:50 p.m. just south of the Gee Creek rest area.

A motorcycle was driving north on the freeway when it was struck by a vehicle, according to emergency radio traffic.

After the initial crash, the motorcyclist was struck by a second vehicle, according to radio traffic.

An off-duty paramedic who arrived on scene began administering CPR before rescue crews arrived, but the WSP reported later that the motorcyclist had died.

The name of the motorcyclist or drivers of other vehicles involved were not available late Saturday night.

The crash closed two lanes of the freeway for the emergency response and investigation.
