Clark baseball sweeps Treasure Valley

A four-run eighth inning helped the Clark College baseball team get past Treasure Valley 5-2 on Saturday and sweep an NWAACC non-division doubleheader at Kindsfather Field.

The Penguins (9-2) won the first game 6-3.

Down 2-1 entering the eighth of the second game, Clark came up with four runs on five hits. Skyview grad Brayden Maney drove in two runs with a hit in the rally.

Kevin Hamann was the winning pitcher, going eight innings with six strikeouts. Layne Sutten picked up the save.

In the opener, Clark had a 6-0 lead going into the eighth when Treasure Valley rallied for its three runs before the Penguins shut the door.

David Mason had two doubles for the Penguins.

Clark is scheduled to host the Linfield JV in a noon doubleheader Sunday.
