Published: March 20, 2014, 5:00pm

Two Level III sex offenders recently moved to Vancouver, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration Unit. Level III sex offenders are considered the group most likely to commit new sex crimes.

Steven R. Clark, 41, was recently released from the Department of Corrections and registered at a residence in the 1000 block of West 12th Street. In 1999, Clark pleaded guilty to indecent exposure in Camas Municipal Court. He pleaded guilty to first-degree child molestation in 2007 after sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl he knew, according to Clark County Superior Court records.

He will be monitored by the Washington State Department of Corrections, the Vancouver Police Sex Offender Tracking Unit and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration Unit.

Jeremiah C. Thompson, 20, recently moved to the 11300 block of Northeast 61st Avenue. Four years ago, he pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. According to court documents, Thompson sexually assaulted an adult relative and accepted a plea deal related to allegations he molested a 7-year-old girl. In 2012, he was sentenced to 14 months in prison for raping a 14-year-old high school classmate, according to Columbian archives.

Thompson is known to drive a green 1993 Geo Prizm with Washington license plates 762WNA. He will be monitored by the Department of Corrections and the county’s sex offender registration unit.
