East County Fire & Rescue is seeking citizens who are interested in being part of a committee that will offer “honest, objective input” on the district’s level of service.
“The board requests the citizens committee to provide feedback on what services they think are important to continue, what services might be altered or cut, and what services might be added,” states a press release. “These suggestions will be discussed in the context of the current budget.”
Anyone interested in being selected for the committee should provide information including name, physical address, phone number and email address, and answer the questions, “What previous interaction have you had with ECFR, if any?” and “Why do you want to get involved?” Statements should be sent to Chief Scott Koehler at skoehler@ecfr.us, by noon on Tuesday, April 1.
The ECFR Commission will appoint five citizens who are representative of the population of the fire district as a whole. Members will receive an orientation to the fire district, tour ECFR stations and apparatus, hear about ECFR operations, ask questions and discuss levels of service.
