Boys from two Clark County gyms will be among those competing in the USA Gymnastics Washington Men’s Gymnastics Championships, which take place on Saturday and Sunday at the Clark County Event Center in Ridgefield.
Representing Vancouver Elite Gymnastics Academy — the host gym for the state meet — are Trace Jaquot, Ryan Dietzman, Noah Delisle and Nick McAfee. They compete at Level 10, among the most advanced competitors at this meet. All four are shooting to advance to regional, and eventually to national Junior Olympics meets.
The session for Levels 8-10 Junior Olympics gymnasts begins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Eleven members of the Naydenov Gymnastics boys team will participate in the state meet. They are: Taner Schiller (Level 8), Kyle Hendren and Justyn Ward (Level 7), Alexander Stidd, Raymon Rodriguez and Nathan Hays (Level 6), Nathan Ciobanu (Level 5), and Tristan Cienfuegos, Donny Hillis, Garrett Grindle and Jason Naydenov (Level 4).
Level 4, the skill level for gymnasts who are beginning competitors, will take place on Sunday. The other levels happen on Saturday.
Cost for spectators is $10, $5 for ages 6-17. There is a $6 parking fee charged at the fairgrounds.
