EVEREST COLLEGE 2013 DREAM AWARD

Michael Couch, Vancouver, and an honor graduate of Everest College-Portland, received the college’s 2013 Dream Award. Everest College recognizes one graduate each year who has completed a post-secondary education while overcoming extraordinary challenges and demonstrating exceptional leadership. Couch will receive a $2,500 scholarship to pursue an advanced degree in his field of study. He is a veteran of the Air Force and employed as a pharmacy technician at Kaiser Permanente.

WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY, PULLMAN

Thanh-Thuy Nguyen was awarded a $1,000 Auvil Undergraduate Research Award. Nguyen graduated from Mountain View High School in 2006 and is the daughter of Hong Y. Tran and Dung Nguyen of Vancouver.

WESTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY

Morgan Ambrose, daughter of Curtis and Tina Ambrose of Vancouver, received a Kenneth and Lorraine Mortimer $2,667 renewable scholarship. Ambrose expects to graduate in 2016 with a degree in special education/elementary education.

Joshua Bird, Ridgefield, was selected for Washington State’s Legislative Internship Program for the winter quarter. Bird is a political science major.

Evan Rumble, son of Newt Rumble and Barbara Kusik of Ridgefield, received a $3,000 CREATE scholarship. He is a senior majoring in arts education.

Olivia Ponzetti, daughter of James and Rosanne Ponzetti of Vancouver, received a $3,000 CREATE scholarship. She is a junior studying communication sciences and disorders, and also educational theater.

WILLAMETTE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW, SALEM, ORE.

Bradley Thayer, Vancouver, was named to the fall 2013 dean’s list.
