A wanted man who led police to shut down a freeway rest area south of Ridgefield last week was spotted on a bicycle about 100 miles south in Albany, Ore.
Derral Kenneth Mosby, 36, of Mossy Rock called his dad Thursday afternoon and told him he was at the Gee Creek rest stop along Interstate 5 south with a gunshot wound to his leg, according to the Washington State Patrol. Police shut the down the Milepost 12 rest area and searched several hours for Mosby, who has multiple felony warrants out of Lewis County.
Mosby broke into a house near the Ridgefield rest area and stole a vehicle on Thursday, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. He then used a pay phone near Salem, Ore., to call his family.
On Sunday, Albany police found the stolen vehicle, but not Mosby. He was last spotted on a bike in the Knox Butte area near the Linn County Fairgrounds. Police in the area were searching for him Tuesday.
