Evergreen Highlands — More than 600 people gathered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Feb. 22 for a Clark County Veterans Court Board Luau dinner and concert honoring the “greatest generation.” More than 40 World War II and Korean War veterans received free dinner and plaques for their service. The daylong event featured many performers, from the Groove Nation Dance Academy through the Old Time Fiddlers to Elvis tribute artist Mark Stevenz of Washougal. The Lewis and Clark Young Marines even struck that famous flag-raising Iwo Jima pose while the National Anthem was sung.
