Clark College Athletic Report, 03/11

BASEBALL

Last week: Clark won three of four games in Yakima over the weekend, improving to 4-2 on the season.

Saturday, the Penguins beat Skagit Valley 5-2 and Yakima 3-1.

Sunday, the Penguins beat Yakima 6-3 before losing to Skagit Valley 9-8.

Next games: Clark will play a doubleheader at Centralia on Saturday with games at noon and 3 p.m. The teams will play a doubleheader at Clark on Sunday with games at the same times.

SOFTBALL

Last week: Clark opened its season by splitting a double-header March 4 against Centralia, 2-9, 5-4.

Saturday, the Penguins beat Big Bend 20-6 at the RAC Inter-Region tournament in Lacey.

Sunday, the Penguins beat Skagit Valley 10-3 and Edmonds 9-7in Lacey.

Next games: Clark’s next scheduled games are March 21-23 at the South Inter-Region Tournament at Delta Park.

TRACK AND FIELD

Last week: Eric Zechenelly finished third in the 400 meters at the Oregon State Invitational in Corvallis, Ore. Tremaine Rambo finished fourth in the 800. Carley Lannan was fourth in the shot put.

Next meet: Clark is scheduled to participate in the Boxer Combined Event at Pacific University on Saturday and Sunday.
