Washougal — Tiny, scary creatures sprouted in the art room at Excelsior High School on Feb. 27.
Visiting artist James DeRosso was on hand to teach a class about basic ceramic sculpting and the little personal touches that would give their creatures personality. The students created monsters that displayed all sorts of different poses and feelings.
“This was one of the most popular activities we have ever done,” said Principal Carol Boyden.
The pieces will be glazed and fired off site.
This special class was paid for by the cup-auction fundraiser held last year by Michelle McKnight at Michelle’s Coffee Corner.
