Women in agriculture — from women who have been farming for years to women who aspire to work in agriculture — are invited to participate in the Women in Agriculture Conference from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 15 at Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St.
Women in Washington, Oregon and Idaho will meet at 28 locations to hear advice for improving farm management skills and to network with other women in agriculture.
The keynote address, by Heather Darby, a seventh-generation owner of the 200-year-old Darby Farm in Vermont, will share strategies for her farm’s success. Darby’s address will be delivered at the main location at WSU in Pullman, but will be broadcast to all 28 locations.
Lorrie Conway from Conway Family Farm in Camas will facilitate the financial talk that includes learning how to use the SWOT analysis as a decision-making tool to look at key financial considerations for taking on a new capital expense.
