More than 10,000 used books for children will be sold Saturday and Sunday by the Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation.

The sale will be held at the library system’s district headquarters, the former Vancouver Community Library, 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd.

The sale will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days; books will be $1. The sale will feature surplus library books for a range of age levels, including board books for infants and picture books. There also will be fiction and nonfiction, classics, adventure books, graphic novels, science fiction and popular series.

Judy Musa, who is coordinating the sale, said that it will be an opportunity for children to start book collections of their own.

Although they are used, the books are in good condition, said Sherry Braga, volunteer coordinator for the sale.

Proceeds will be used to support Fort Vancouver Regional Library District’s summer reading program.
