Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit are asking for assistance in locating 23-year-old Jason A. Hanson, who is wanted in connection with an assault in Esther Short Park on Monday.
Hanson is 6 feet tall and 165 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes; he has a tattoo of a bomb on the back of his right shoulder and tattoo of a cross on his left leg.
Hanson is considered violent and should not be approached, police said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911. He is believed to frequent the downtown Vancouver area.
Hanson and a female suspect allegedly assaulted a 64-year-old man in the park Monday after the female asked the man for money, according to police. When the man replied that he didn’t have any, the female used an ethnic slur and hit him with a skateboard, police said. Hanson allegedly then punched him in the head and face, according to police.
The female suspect in the assault, a juvenile, is in custody on unrelated charges, according to police.
