A single-vehicle rollover crash sent a Vancouver man to the hospital early Saturday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Vancouver resident Vanida Khiaw, 25, was driving a 1995 Subaru Impreza northbound over the Interstate 5 Bridge when she lost control of the vehicle and spun out at about 4:19 a.m. Saturday, according to police.

The car veered into the right shoulder, struck a concrete barrier and rolled, coming to rest on its top on the ramp from northbound I-5 to eastbound state Highway 14, police said.

Khiaw was not injured. Her passenger, 25-year-old Marcus King of Vancouver, was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, police said. He was discharged from the hospital later Saturday morning.

The crash was caused by “defective equipment,” according to investigators. Khiaw was charged with driving without a valid license and no insurance, according to police.
