Volcanoes fall in regular-season finale

Vancouver hosts playoffs on Saturday

Call it the appetizer to what’s to come on Saturday.

The Vancouver Volcanoes finished its International Basketball League regular season with a 141-133 overtime loss to the Portland Chinooks at Eastmoreland Courts on Tuesday night.

The same two teams will square off on Saturday night at the O’Connell Center in an IBL semifinal playoff matchup.

Portland (10-5) won the season series against Vancouver (12-5) by winning three of the five matchups.

On Tuesday, the Volcanoes were led by Adam Herman’s 30 points and 16 rebounds. Leading scorer Andre Murray did not play.

Also for the Volcanoes, Brian Morris scored 26 points, Cedayle Doyle had 22 and Josh Tarver had 16 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.

Portland’s Germain Jordan led all scorers with 35 points and 14 rebounds.

Vancouver led by as many as 13 points at 89-76.
