A Camas man faces charges of drunken driving and vehicular assault following a weekend T-bone crash that injured two people outside of Battle Ground.

Mario Thaddeus Beaudoin, 42, was traveling southbound in a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup on Northeast 167th Avenue and failed to stop at a stop sign at Northeast 199th Street at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, according to court documents.

The pickup crashed into a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon traveling east on Northeast 199th Street. The driver of the Hyundai, Frederick Viray, 21, of Brush Prairie suffered five fractured ribs and pulmonary contusions on both sides of his chest, according to court documents. He was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

Viray’s passenger, Jeremy Saia, 20, of Battle Ground suffered injuries that were not life threatening and also was taken to the hospital.

Both Viray and Saia were treated and released.

Two passengers in the Ford pickup suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by medics.

Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash and found several open cans of Bud Light and Steel Reserve that had been thrown from Beaudoin’s vehicle, according to court documents. Beaudoin told deputies he drank two beers several hours prior to the collision, according to court documents. A breath test performed at the scene determined Beaudoin had a blood-alcohol concentration of .107, above the legal limit of .08.

Clark County Superior Court Judge David Gregerson found probable cause for a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular assault and set Beaudoin’s bail at $50,000.

Beaudoin has four DUIs on his record, according to court documents.
