The woman who reportedly jumped off of the Interstate 205 Bridge Wednesday night was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Fengu Chen, 30, of Portland was sitting on the edge of the bridge with her feet dangling over the edge, prompting several 911 calls about 7:50 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol.

Troopers responded, though Chen had already jumped into the Columbia River, Trooper Will Finn said.

Emergency crews pulled her from the river and took her to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.
