Senior crafts podium as project

Washougal — Graduating senior Noah Cima wanted to make his mark on Washougal High School — that is, literally leave his name on the school — before he left. So, for his senior project, Cima built and signed a beautiful wooden podium for use at school assemblies and events. He got the idea after helping his father build a podium for Heather Carver, a WHS teacher. “I had some ideas on how to improve on the original,” he said. The project took Cima approximately 80 hours of work. While he’s obviously talented in woodworking, that will likely remain a hobby for Cima, who plans attend medical school and become an anesthesiologist.
