The Greater Oregon Chapter of March of Dimes recently awarded five community grants to organizations working for improved infant and maternal health throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

One of the five grants went to the PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Foundation. The foundation received a $20,000 grant — the largest grant distributed — to support a new centering pregnancy program that is a joint collaboration between The Vancouver Clinic and PeaceHealth Southwest.

The other grants were awarded to Catholic Community Services, North Central Public Health District, Healthy Birth Initiative at Multnomah (Ore.) County Health Department and NEOPDX.

The local March of Dimes community grants program is designed to invest in priority projects that further the March of Dimes mission, support national campaign objectives and further its goal of reducing disparities in birth outcomes.

Grants are awarded each year.
