The Washington State Auditor’s Office found two deficiencies in its recent financial audit of Southwest Washington Behavioral Health Regional Support Network.
The network was formed in October 2012 through an interlocal agreement between Clark, Cowlitz and Skamania counties. The network administers and coordinates public mental services in the counties.
The auditor’s office found two deficiencies in internal controls over financial reporting that could affect the network’s ability to produce reliable financial statements, according to the auditor’s report.
The auditor’s office found network staff did not adequately research how to appropriately record non-routine transactions on the financial statements and determined the network’s review process for prepared financial statements is not sufficiently detailed.
