Weather Eye: Look for temperatures to cool a little, with slight chance of rain

Our fine summer weather continues with pleasant afternoons just about everywhere. Today we will see the morning clouds linger longer and drop the highs down just a bit. A weak weather system moves by to our north bringing a few scattered showers or drizzle north of Clark County up into Puget Sound.

Always a chance the clouds will thicken enough to cause a little mist or drizzle but I am keeping it dry with no measurable moisture. You knew there was a slight chance I would mention a slight chance of moisture didn’t you?

That slight chance increases by Thursday into a most likely situation but any rain that falls will be on the light side. We mention it to cover the bases.

We have gone 10 days without measurable rainfall this month (unless drips tip the bucket a hundred of an inch or so). If it stays intact until midnight then Wednesday would be day 11. It may as I mentioned end on Thursday.

Last year we escaped the first 10 days as well without any measurable rain. We did have a trace of drizzle on June 1 but that doesn’t count. It finally rained .02 of an inch on the 11th and then a good soaking on the 12th and 13th with nearly an inch at the official gauge at Pearson (.92 of an inch). So we are kind of mirroring last year although it was warmer last June.

We won’t have nearly as much rainfall Thursday and Friday as was recorded those two days last year. It will be much cooler with highs below seasonal averages and what we have come to be accustomed to. Still, no complaints!
