“School’s out for the summer!” Are any words sweeter to a school kid’s — or a teacher’s — ears?
The 10 Clark County school districts are winding down their school years, with six distinct final days of classes at county schools this month.
Most districts have to make up snow days. Green Mountain School District releases first, on Friday.
The last district to release for the summer is Washougal. Its last day of school is June 23.
Last days of school 2013-14:
o Friday: Green Mountain.
o Monday, June 16: La Center, Ridgefield.
o Tuesday, June 17: Camas.
o Thursday, June 19: Vancouver.
o Friday, June 20: Battle Ground, Evergreen, Hockinson, Woodland.
o Monday, June 23: Washougal.
The 2014-15 school year begins before Labor Day for Green Mountain and La Center, but after Labor Day for all other districts.
First day of school 2014-15:
o Wednesday, Aug. 27: Green Mountain, La Center.
o Tuesday, Sept. 2: Camas, Washougal.
o Wednesday, Sept. 3: Battle Ground, Evergreen, Hockinson, Ridgefield, Vancouver and Woodland.
