The Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will host several archaeology programs this summer that are open to the public.
The programs, part of the National Park Service Summer of Archaeology, include access to dig sites, special kids’ events, a public speaker series and collections open house.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, June 24 through Aug. 2, members of the public can visit dig sites and talk to teams working on two archaeological sites from the Hudson’s Bay Company and Vancouver Barracks.
Kids Digs, open to ages 8 through 12, will start at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 28, July 12 and July 26, with space limited to 20 kids each.
