A single-car crash on I-5 near Ridgefield killed a Kalama man and injured two children Saturday morning.
The accident occurred at 10:25 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway at milepost 15, between the Ridgefield Port of Entry scale house and the Northeast 319th Street exit to La Center, said Tim Dawdy, battalion chief with Clark County Fire & Rescue.
A 2008 Volkswagen Jetta sedan went off the right side of the freeway and crashed into a large light pole, according to Dawdy and the Washington State Patrol.
Dawdy said the driver was dead at the scene.
The WSP identified the driver as Nicholas R. Logue, 36, of Kalama. Two passengers, Nealee D. Logue, 9, and Nash R. Logue, 3, were taken to Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
