A motorcyclist was hospitalized after he was ejected from his bike in a rear-end crash on Thursday evening near Battle Ground.

Clifton R. Roberts, 38, was driving a 2013 Harley Davidson east on state Highway 502 about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Washington State Patrol. Traffic was stopped about three miles west of Battle Ground, but Roberts failed to stop and struck the back of a 2015 Mazda 6, state patrol reports.

Roberts was ejected and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center where he is in stable condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

The driver of the Mazda, John H. Eells, 43, of Battle Ground wasn’t injured.

Troopers cited Roberts for suspicion of speeding.
