A Level III sex offender convicted of molesting girls has finished his court sentence and recently moved to Vancouver.

Gerald William Johnson, 49, recently reported to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office that he’s living in the 1000 block of West 13th Street.

He is described as white, 5 foot 7 and 230 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He owns a gold, four-door 1990 Honda Accord with Washington license plate 511ZKQ. Johnson is not wanted by police.

In December 2007, Johnson was found guilty of second-degree child molestation. In that case, he sexually abused a 12-year-old girl he knew. The abuse took place on several occasions during a two-year period, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

In December 2004, Johnson pleaded guilty to communication with a minor for immoral purposes after being accused of sexually molesting a 4-year-old girl he knew, according to the news release.

In June 1991, Johnson pleaded guilty to second-degree theft and unlawful imprisonment after being accused of picking up a 12-year-old girl, taking her money to pay for two nights at a motel and then sexually assaulting the girl, deputies said.

All of the crimes occurred in Clark County.

Johnson will be monitored by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration Unit, the Department of Corrections and the Vancouver Police Sex Offender Tracking Unit.
