Evergreen Storm’s Savanna Craig wins steeplechase national title

Evergreen Storm Track Club’s Savanna Craig is a national champion.

The Vancouver resident won the 2,000 meter steeplechase for girls ages 15-16 Thursday at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in Houston.

Her time of 7:04.32 was 30 seconds faster than the second-place finisher and a personal best by 15 seconds.

Evergreen’s Ethan Tonder placed eighth in the 15-16 boys shot put.
