A special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners is set for 6 p.m. today for the commissioners, community leaders and the public to learn about a proposed toll-free east county bridge.

Linda Figg will introduce a proposal in the Public Service Center’s sixth-floor hearing room, 1300 Franklin St. She is president and chief executive of Figg Engineering Group, a national firm with headquarters in Tallahassee, Fla. The meeting will include time for questions, but not for public comment.

A separate public hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the same location. The commissioners then will hear public testimony before deciding whether to arrange an advisory vote in November to gauge public support for the bridge near Southeast 192nd Avenue.
