Evergreen Storm track athletes place high at Junior Olympics

Athletes from the Evergreen Storm Track Club had a day to remember at the first full day of competition at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in Houston.

Trey Knight placed second in the shot put for 11-12 boys with a throw of 48 feet, 1.25 inches.

The 13-14 girls team of Emily Wilson, Presley Timmons, Kaylee Merritt and Brooklyn Jackson placed third in the 4×800 relay, clocking a time of 10 minutes, 7 seconds.

Bailey King placed ninth in the hammer for boys 15-16 and Ryan Gunther got 17th in the boys 17-18 400 meter hurdles.
