The 26th annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Vancouver is taking place this weekend.

The 24-hour event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at McLoughlin Middle School, 5802 MacArthur Blvd. in Vancouver.

The event is a celebration of cancer survivors and a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Teams of walkers will keep a continuous presence on the track throughout the night and a variety of activities for the whole family take place throughout the event, including kids games, karaoke and Zumba.

The event will begin with the Survivors’ Lap, where hundreds of cancer survivors and their caregivers take a victory lap around the track. The candlelight Luminaria ceremony to honor cancer survivors and remember those who lost their fight against the disease will begin at 10 p.m. Saturday. Luminaria bags for the ceremony can be purchased at the event or online at www.vancouverrelay.org.
