The next opportunity for Rick Story to re-ignite his UFC career comes on Wednesday as part of UFC Fight Night Atlantic City, N.J.

Story takes on Brazil’s Leonardo Mafra in a welterweight match as part of a show that starts at 6 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.

After years training at Inferno Sports in Vancouver, Story trained for this fight at MMA Lab in Glendale, Ariz. A number of established mixed martial arts fighters train at MMA Lab.

Since a six-bout UFC winning streak launched Story to prominence in early 2011, the Tacoma native has experienced mixed results. He is 16-8 as a professional fighter (9-6 in UFC), but only 3-5 in his last eight fights including losing a split decision to Kelvin Gastelum in March as part of UFC 171.

Mafra, 25, is 0-1 in UFC and 11-1 as a pro MMA fighter. He lost his UFC debut two years ago by third-round knockout to Thiago Perpétuo and had to win his way back into UFC.

The headline match for the show is a five-round lightweight match between No. 6-ranked Donald Cerrone and No. 7 Jim Miller.
