Rescuers searched the East Fork of the Lewis River on Friday after two boys went missing while rafting between Lewisville Park and Daybreak Park.
The boys, ages 10 and 12, were found in good condition after a three-hour search.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Clark County Fire District 6’s Technical Rescue Unit were called in shortly after 6:30 p.m. after their parents reported losing track of the boys, ages 10 and 12.
The boys were reportedly seen by other rafters midway between the parks. They had been in an inflatable raft and had reportedly left the river with plans to hike back to where they put in. They had not been wearing life jackets.
Searchers from combed the river and riverbanks until at about 9:30 p.m., when they learned the boys had found their way to a house near the river west of Lewisville Highway. The homeowner flagged down searchers, and the boys were reunited with their parent.
