Summer chinook retention in the lower Columbia resumes on Friday and continues through July, then the big fall chinook and coho season starts on Aug. 1. (See page B1)

Sturgeon retention is allowed Friday and Saturday in the Bonneville pool of the Columbia River. Retention also is scheduled open July 18 and 19. This is one of the rare chances to catch and keep a sturgeon.

Takhlakh Lake on the west side of Mount Adams has been stocked with 160 big rainbow trout plus 3,325 catchable-size rainbow.

Angler checks from the Washington (WDFW) and Oregon (ODFW) departments of Fish and Wildlife:

Lower Columbia — Tongue Point to Wauna power lines, 14 boaters with two steelhead kept plus one adult summer chinook and one steelhead released. (ODFW)

Clatsop Spit to Wauna power lines, 14 Oregon bank rods with three steelhead kept. (ODFW)

Estuary, six boaters with one adult summer chinook and three steelhead kept. (WDFW)

Westport, Ore., to Portland, 148 boaters with three adult summer chinook, one jack chinook, two steelhead and two sockeye kept plus four adult chinook, one jack chinook and four steelhead released. (ODFW)

Cathlamet, 31 boaters with 11 steelhead and one sockeye kept plus 10 steelhead and three adult summer chinook released; 65 bank rods with nine steelhead kept and two released. (WDFW)

Longview, 50 boaters with three steelhead kept and one adult summer chinook released; 136 bank rods with one adult summer chinook and nine steelhead kept plus two adult chinook and two steelhead released. (WDFW)

Cowlitz River mouth, 13 boaters with one jack chinook kept. (WDFW)

Kalama, 61 boaters with two adult summer chinook, two steelhead and two sockeye kept plus four adult chinook, three steelhead, one sockeye and one sublegal sturgeon released; 103 bank rods with four adult summer chinook kept plus four adult summer chinook, five steelhead and one sockeye released; eight boaters with 20 legal and 20 sublegal sturgeon released.
