Its best player sidelined by foul trouble, Evergreen still squeaked by Skyview.
Robert Franks picked up his fourth foul early in the third quarter and sat out until four minutes were left.
Skvyiew kept a narrow lead through most of the game. But Greg Washington’s 3-pointer put Evergreen ahead 48-45 with one minute to play.
Skyview has lost three consecutive league games by four points or less.
“We’ve been right there, but the other team has just made big shots,” Skyview coach Matt Gruhler said.
Evergreen shot 18 for 31 from the free-throw line while Skyview was 6 for 7.
“We had 18 fouls in the first half and stopped keeping track at 12 in the second,” Gruhler said. “Evergreen did a good job penetrating and we didn’t do a good job adjusting to the officiating. Instead of playing good position, we tried to go for blocks.”
