SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A 36-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to raping a 12-year-old boy was sentenced Wednesday in Salem to 12 years in prison.
Sarah Beth Hopkins also must register as a sex offender and spend the rest of her life under supervision after her prison term.
The Statesman Journal reports (http://stjr.nl/1hRhVQY ) Hopkins was tearful and apologetic in Marion County Circuit Court and asked the judge to have mercy on her.
The victim’s mother also spoke and said her son forgives her.
