One person was injured in a crash on state Highway 500 in the Orchards area Monday evening.

Chadwick Patrick, 19, of Union Gap was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier east on the highway at about 5 p.m., when the eastbound car in front of him, a 2001 Subaru Impreza, slowed to turn left onto Northeast 182nd Avenue. Patrick’s car then rear-ended the Impreza, according to Washington State Patrol.

Patrick was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to WSP, though hospital staff said he was not listed as a patient Wednesday. The driver of the Impreza was not injured.

Troopers cited Patrick for speeding.
