WASHINGTON (AP) — Kevin Kelly has resigned as Georgetown’s head football coach to become the defensive coordinator at Ball State.
The Hoyas announced Thursday that Kelly was leaving after eight seasons at the school.
Kelly went 24-63 at Georgetown, including 2-9 in 2013. He was the Patriot League coach of the year in 2011, when the Hoyas went 8-3.
Defensive coordinator Rob Sgarlata will serve as Georgetown’s interim head coach while a search is conducted for Kelly’s replacement.
