Central Vancouver — Florence Moore likes playing bridge weekly with three dear friends. She will celebrate her 100th birthday Saturday.

Moore was born Feb. 1., 1914, in Iowa and has lived in Clark County for most of her life.

She was secretary to numerous superintendents of Vancouver schools before retiring after about 25 years.

Her social life centered around bridge, golfing and ballroom dancing. She gave up dancing after the death of her husband, Fred Moore. She continued to golf at Royal Oaks Country Club into her late 80s. She and Fred were married for 50 years before his death in 1984.

She has one son, Kenneth of Vancouver, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather for a birthday celebration from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Fairway Village Clubhouse, 15509 S.E. Fernwood Drive.
