The Washington State Farmers Market Association will hold the largest annual conference in its history this weekend at Vancouver’s Heathman Lodge.
The conference, which runs from Friday through Sunday morning, will attract more than 200 market organizers, farmers, volunteers and other farmers market professionals. Topics will include best practices in farmers market management, food safety, new point-of-sale technologies, and current federal and state legislation. Russ Parsons, food editor from the L.A. Times, is the keynote speaker.
Clark County Public Health is a conference sponsor. The Clark-Cowlitz Farm Bureau is hosting an exhibit, and Washington State University Extension Services’ Small Farms Program is coordinating a Southwest Washington farms exhibit.
