INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Olympic bronze medalist Sam Oldham will replace fellow British teammate Max Whitlock at the American Cup on March 1 in Greensboro, N.C.
Whitlock, a member of the British team that grabbed a bronze medal in London two years ago, won silver in the horizontal bar at 2013 European Championships and was third in the all-around at the 2013 British Championships.
The American Cup features an elite field of nine men and nine women in the biggest international gymnastics competition in the U.S. this season.
Reigning world all-around champion Simon Biles and reigning NCAA champion Sam Mikulak are scheduled to compete for the U.S.
