SCHLADMING, Austria (AP) — Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway won the final World Cup slalom before the Sochi Olympics on Tuesday for his first career victory.
Kristoffersen, who trailed leader Mario Matt of Austria by 0.09 after the opening leg, had a blistering finish to his second run and finished in 1 minute, 47.43 seconds.
Defending overall champion Marcel Hirscher of Austria trailed by 0.18 in second, and Felix Neureuther of Germany was another 0.01 behind in third.
Matt straddled the third gate of his final run and failed to finish.
