PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Andre Winston Jr. scored 23 points as Portland State got hot in the second half and came back to defeat Eastern Washington 92-83 Monday night.
Eastern Washington started off hot, making 69.6 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half to take a 40-30 halftime lead. The Eagles cooled to 36.1 percent shooting in the second period while Portland State hit 65.5 percent, outscoring EWU 62-43.
Portland State quickly took control in the second period, opening with a 17-6 run to take a 46-44 lead with 14:00 remaining. EWU battled back to close to 59-58 following a 3-point shot by Tyler Harvey. The Vikings answered with a 13-3 run for a 72-61 advantage with 4:52 remaining.
Tim Douglas had 17 points for the Vikings (9-8, 4-4 Big Sky Conference) and Kyle Richardson and Gary Winston had 12 each.
Ognjen Miljkoic scored 32 for EWU (8-11, 3-5).
